After months of patience and Netbooking, we should be installing our new hard drive Saturday (with a little help from a friend!). And, with regaining full access to my desktop computer, I promise more posts and more pictures!!
The past few weeks have been so busy here on the farm, with lots more busy weeks to come. Gardening season is getting started, keeping Allen busy with seed trays and tilling. Emma is enjoying shoveling in the garden and picking up the rocks -- if only she had a longer attention span with that task! Meanwhile, Olivia and I are dreaming of fresh tomato sandwiches... (yes... Emma is not going to budge on baby #3 being name Olivia)
Last weekend we had a good friend and mycologist, Greg, trek in from Raleigh to help us inoculate mushrooms logs. We now have a couple lovely stacks of logs that promise to bring us plenty of shitake and oyster mushrooms come the fall. We should have enough to share and sell. Guess I will have to start looking up recipes for oyster mushrooms. This will be our second year of growing shitakes, which were delicious last year. I will post pictures soon of the boys hard at work.
Hopefully this will be my last picture-less post for a long time!
