We hope everyone had a great Easter! We finally managed to get a full family picture. Don't worry, Mary Claire wore a cute little hat into church, not the ears, but it wasn't easy to make that happen! The ears have been a staple at our house for anytime she actually removes the crown.

And a few shots from the day before Easter... bubbles in the front yard.

Meanwhile, the farmer doesn't get a break. There is no small amount of work in getting the garden going for the summer. Allen has practically lived in the garden anytime he gets a moment free of kid-duty.And last but not least, the newest member of the Gryder farm: the J-10.

Every six months

I get a slight little cold and next thing I know.... WHAM, laid up with a sinus infection. And that, my friends, is where I have been for the last week and a half. How long, might you ask, did it take me to go to the dr? I went today. So now I sit in quite a bit of discomfort after taking my first antibiotic pill. And I count down the days until little Livvy turns one and I can again take real medicines. The kinds that put you to sleep. The kinds that make you quit coughing. The kinds that I have not been allowed to take for the last five years. I dream of taking a bath in Nyquil.... Ok, so I really don't, but I am looking forward to taking any medicine I want. I just hope I don't still have this same daggum sinus infection three months from now when that time comes, because it surely does feel like this thing is here to stay. And now, to my Chai tea. Oh, well first, since this is a farm blog, I guess I should mention that the first cow has officially left our farm for the sale. Pookie, the calf that was born the day we bought the place has officially been sent down to the stock yard (thank you, Blake!) to go up for auction tomorrow. Crossing our fingers for her to sell well!

The chickens....

are laying eggs again. And the eggs are for sale. $3 a dozen. This chicken is not laying eggs, but is much prettier in my opinion than the chickens who are.
This chicken's fuzzy little blue silky buddies are quite nice to look at too. They are my favorites. It's ok to play favorites with chickens. Promise.
